when there's no music
On my scooter ride home from work today, I remembered something a good friend once told me when we were very young. He didn't believe in love, only lust. So I thought about this some more. True, lust is attraction, but what about after a while, what keeps two people together? Surely compassion, caring and compromise, the putting of another before one's self? So don't label it love, if you don't want to, don't label the relationship at all. But you have to know love - of music, family, an activity perhaps? I know we were young, and I hope he has grown, that he and his wife have many years of love ... And lust :-)
